Mark Hall of Hall's Quail Preserve near Damascus is having a tower shoot on Saturday, November 30th. He is wanting 10 retriever/ handler teams to pick up birds for his shooters. If you have never done this it is great work for  your dog and if organized right it can be some good training.

How a tower shoot works is there is a tower from 20' to 75' high in the middle of a ring of shooters. The shooters are usually 60-80 yards from the tower in a circle, sometimes farther. The tower releases pheasants and the shooters shoot them, the bird falls and the retriever picks them up. Usually, shooters rotate one direction and dog teams the other every 10 or 20 birds. We will set up an event on our website next week. You will be fed lunch and get to pick up some fresh killed pheasants.

More details later.
